Exports in October were 3,330 tons compared to 9,230 last year
Exports year to date are 9,074 tons compared to 25,329 tons last year
Three months into the season and roughly a third of the available tonnage has been exported. Prices are steady for sulphured whole and chopped apricots, with the few packers that are still operational covering sales back to back from the few growers that still have stock.
Weekly average export prices continue to increase as old contracts at last seasons prices are being completed. Prices for small and medium sulphured apricots are in the region of $10,000 FOB depending on quality. There is a significant premium for large and natural apricots; heading into the Ramadan buildup we expect prices to continue to firm.
Older orchards continue to be pulled out and cut up for fuel, there is some replanting though not at the scale of the removals.
